1. Information We Collect

• Authentication Data: When you log in with Google, we collect your verified email address, Google ID, and profile name.
• Profile Information: To unlock topper booklets, you submit your mobile phone number, city, state, optional subject choice, and number of UPSC attempts.
• Study Metrics & Usage Logs: We compile your active daily login streaks, calendar markings, specific topper bookmarked pages, search query histories, and support ticket descriptions.
• Transactional Data: Payment details (e.g. UPI ID or transaction success tokens) are collected solely by our secure billing gateways. We do not store credit card CVVs or bank credentials in our database.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal and educational metrics for the following legitimate purposes:

• To maintain your account, authenticate sessions, and enforce subscription restrictions.
• To calculate and track your daily preparation streaks, revision portals, and study leaderboard rankings.
• To offer targeted search suggestions based on your selected optional subjects (e.g. Geography or History).
• To verify the authenticity of referral program actions and issue booklet credits.
• To communicate important updates regarding payment invoices, subscription renewal notices, and administrative queries.

3. Consent for Public Leaderboard and Aggregate Marketing

By registering on ToppersMarg, you agree that your first name and last initial, optional subject, and active daily streak count can be listed publicly on our Leaderboard section to foster healthy peer motivation. Additionally, we may anonymize and compile aggregated statistics (e.g., "80% of our active users improved their daily search revision rate") for platform promotions, digital advertisements, and marketing campaigns.

4. Data Sharing & Strict No-Sell Policy

We hold a strict policy: we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal contact details (such as phone numbers or email addresses) to third-party telemarketers or advertisers. Your information is shared only with verified services necessary to run the platform: payment processors (e.g. Cashfree/Razorpay) to execute billing, secure cloud hosting providers to keep our backend online, and database security mechanisms to block bots.

5. Local Storage and Cookie Policy

ToppersMarg uses browser Local Storage and temporary session cookies to store your authorization tokens, maintain your login status, and remember layout preferences (e.g., zoom scaling inside PDF viewers). You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may log you out automatically or disable core search services.

6. Data Security and Retention

We employ modern technical protections, including secure HTTPS connections, database encryption protocols, and token-based API authentication, to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure. We retain your profile details and bookmarks for as long as your account remains active. Anonymized streak statistics may be preserved indefinitely for historical trend analysis.

7. Your Rights: Opt-Out, Correction, and Deletion

You have the right to modify your optional subject and profile fields in your Profile dashboard at any time. If you wish to permanently close your account and request the deletion of all your personal registration files, search queries, and streak history, you can raise an account deletion request by filing a ticket in the Support section or emailing us directly. Once requested, we will delete your records within 14 business days.
